Team Identification
The Lead linguist is responsible for identifying exactly the right linguist resources for each job. The leads themselves are assigned based upon their industry specific experience and they use this experience and knowledge to ensure the larger language team is also of the correct level and background. Once the team is created the Leads intention is always to place the same overall team on each returning project and build that team with each subsequent release so that everyone can rely and benefit form the accumulated experience.Consistency and Quality
The lead is also responsible for all core language assets – specifically the terminology list, the translation memories and the style guides. They review all of the text provided by the translation team to ensure that the assets have been used and that the overall look and feel of the document is consistent. Only when they are completely happy with the quality and use of the right terminology will they sign off our quality process to allow the translation to be delivered.Education, Training and Experience
Every lead linguist has to have a minimum of two Language Degrees, one in their own language and one in English. They also need to have aquired at least 5 years of industry specific experience. The Leads also carry the responsibility to develop and maintain their expertise through web training, industry memberships and current terminology research.
