Responsibilities
Software Localization Engineers are in charge of all technical aspects of the localization process. More specifically, they:
- Provide technical support to Project Managers by preparing software projects from a process and tools point of view.
- Organize and implement software testing, compiling, bug fixing and bug reporting tasks.
- Provide on-line technical support to external subcontractors and vendors.
- Plan for the use of automation wherever possible.
- Compose test scenarios that ensure top-quality testing.
- Train new test engineers into processes and applications.
- Design and document localization tools.
- Implement the final Quality Assurance of localized products.
- Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead
Requirements
- Studies: Degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience in the localization industry. Hands-on experience on Microsoft projects is an asset.
- Language skills: fluent spoken and written English.
- IT knowledge: All Microsoft platforms. Relational database management. PC software development. Knowledge of C/C++, Java, Visual Basic or other programming languages.
- Personality: Team-worker with good communication and interpersonal skills, open to change and enthusiastic about new technologies. Ability to make decisions in co-ordination with Project Managers is also essential.
